Did GOD Write The Bible?

People always twisting it up is my point.

"You know they waited several hundred years after Jesus died to write a mumbling word. You think all of what's written that is true? Then they translated it from Hebrew... WHO translated it makes a huge difference."

05/31/11:  My cousin who calls me his Uncle because I am so much older than he wrote a blurb on his FaceBook page expressing his consternation over working so hard and not spending "enough" time with his family.  Several people that know him but who do not know anything about me responded, some agreeing that he should spend more time with his family while others felt there should be a "balance" between the two options.  One of them went on to say that God said something in the Bible, and so forth.

I Didn't Know God Wrote The Bible!!!

I love a good argument: God did not write the Bible. Even if we assume the normal premise that man wrote it from spiritual guidance, we still must also acknowledge that it has been revised and translated many many times from the original which I must add, no one knows where it is (the original one). Even so, the Bible basically advises us to take care of our responsibilities, wives to "obey" their husband, don't crave for what does not belong to you but instead work hard for whatever it is you desire, to honor your elders (listen to their wisdom and mix it with your own common sense) as well as to be responsible regarding business matters to look out for our families.  God is who we worship and praise but He did not write the Bible and neither did Jesus.  The Bible was translated by the Europeans and if history is the teacher, was used to give power to the monarchies and church in Rome.  It's funny when you consider this was basically the same system Jesus was in trouble for fighting and his actions angered the high priests.

I digress but these points need to be made.  My "play-nephew" cousin is a hard charging, come up from poor guy who wants his people to have what he didn't have.  I know his story.  His mother has been there to advise and assist him as has his woman, brother, sister children and all.  I give the advice to work hard and push yourself to attain your goals, whatever they may be.  When people say "Give back to God" they probably mean tithe to a church but when I say it I mean work harder, provide a safe environment for your clan, for your friends, for those you love and have mercy even to those you do not love or who think they do not love you.  You cannot tithe what you do not have and honestly, if you do not work extra hard in this economic catastrophe time you will have nothing worth working for.  Do you think that the church you are tithing to will bail you out?  Where? Think about it.  Think about all of it and then think about this:

The Bible says a woman is under a man. What woman do you know who thinks she takes orders from a man? Then consider if you are Black... What Black woman today isn't raised to believe she (a) isn't equal or (b) doesn't NEED a man?
Where in the Bible does it say a man can only have ONE wife? What BIBLE says anything about that?
I am astounded by all these people quoting the Bible who never read it and if they did are just as confused about what they read as the rest of us, quoting what they presume that GOD meant.
